On June 16, 2011 the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision in the case entitled  In Re J.D.B.  from North Carolina.   In a way it "upsets the apple cart"  for juvenile officers.    It involves an SRO but will have a greater impact on police officers working with juveniles on the street. 

Law Advisory Group's research staff has been tracking this and several other cases for over a year and will be presenting programs starting in August on what law enforcement agencies and schools should do to improve and correct their practices when dealing with each other.   At the same time,  consideration of students' off campus activities required new protocols when those activities impact on the serenity and safety of school educational activity.   These items will also be covered.
